Software Systems Engineer III - (Lynchburg, VA)

System Test senior staff engineer for VIDA Infrastructure and broadband (802.16) testing. Areas of responsibility will include requirements analysis, test analysis, network testing, verification testing and some system engineer support. Create and manage a test lab for Broadband testing and work with system engineering to support field installations. Create and maintain test related documents for this project. These documents would include System Test Strategy, Test Plans, Test Instructions, weekly reports and Test Reports. Ongoing work towards improving the test process is also expected. Work with design teams for system integration and validation efforts. Communicate effectively, both written and orally.

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience, with a minimum of two years of engineering experience relevant to the communications or IT field.
The candidate needs to possess the following technical skills; digital communications, IP network design and system diagnostics. Candidate must be familiar with computer and network test techniques. Also very good interpersonal and team building skills are desired as are good technical documentation skills. Must be proficient in the following skills: 802.16, SUN (UNIX), Cisco Networking, Windows 2003 Server
Must be able to work independently and interface with remote development. Must be a self-starter and have excellent time management skills with the ability to work well under schedule pressures and balance priorities. Individual must be able to work well to meet team project goals. Individual must be receptive to change, input and give and receive feedback to and from others within the company.
